Congressman Ciscomani Wraps Up August District Work Period

TUCSON – During the Congressional recess work period that occurred during the month of August, Congressman Ciscomani crisscrossed all of Arizona's Sixth Congressional District meeting with steelworkers, to speaking with students in Vail, to celebrating our educators in Casa Grande, meeting with CBP Air and Marine Operations on Fort Huachuca and more.

Kicking off the month, Congressman Ciscomani spoke at the opening ceremony of the Jewish Community Centers of North America’s Maccabi Games – held for the first time in 25 years in Tucson – to welcome and celebrate over 1,000 young Jewish athletes from across the U.S. and around the world for a week of Olympic-style sports.

QuikTrip in Tucson let Congressman Ciscomani behind the counter for an inside look at their day-to-day operations. With 4,000 employees across Arizona – and 20 at this store – Ciscomani saw firsthand all they are doing to ensure safety and security for their customers and team members.

2025 is on track to be Tucson’s busiest year ever for air travel, with 4.1 million passengers projected to travel via Tucson International Airport. To support this growing demand, Congressman Ciscomani met with Air Traffic Controllers in the airport’s 252-foot tower to discuss their vital work to keep the skies safe. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act has resources to modernize our air traffic control systems across the nation.

Additionally, while touring the Tucson Airport Authority, Congressman Ciscomani was able to get a up close look at the ongoing construction of a new 11,000-foot commercial runway at the airport. This will be the largest construction project in the airport’s history and is being funded through federal grant money.

After the airport, Congressman Ciscomani met with the Arizona Technology Council to discuss a wide range of topics, share results our team has delivered, and was proud to announce he has joined the Optics and Photonics caucus for the 119th Congress. The optics and photonics industry spans diverse applications, including aerospace, defense, biomedicine, and semiconductors, and is supported by high-income job creation, resulting in a significant impact of $4 billion on Arizona’s economy.

Pinal County is one of the fastest-growing counties in Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District. Congressman Ciscomani joined the Pinal Partnership with local business owners and community members to hear about the economic development and growth happening throughout the county.

Congressman Ciscomani joined over 100 businesses and organizations at Marana Mornings – appliance store owners, financial planners, painters, plumbers, Boy Scouts, realtors, and more. These are the business owners, entrepreneurs, and employees who are working every day to achieve their American Dream. He provided a congressional update on the wins from the extension of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act that will impact many of the small businesses in attendance.

In Pima County, Marana Health Center serves 60,000 people since 1957 with medical, dental, and behavioral health care. In 2024, health centers served over 870,000 Arizonans, including 325,000 in Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District alone. Congressman Ciscomani met with these leaders at Marana Health Center during National Health Center Week to discuss the impacts of health centers in our community.

At the Arizona Rock Products Association Future Leaders Program, Congressman Ciscomani spoke with their seventh cohort to share encouraging words of leadership and how he advocates for their industry in Congress. These rising leaders are the future of the rock products industry, and Congressman Ciscomani encouraged them to get involved, share their expertise, and help shape Arizona’s future.

Congressman Ciscomani spoke at the Naturalization Ceremony for 74 immigrants, from 24 countries, with Judge Mike Liburdi presiding. Congressman Ciscomani was able to watch new citizens take the oath of citizenship and take their first steps in achieving their own American Dreams – an inspiring moment for all.

Pharmacists play a vital role in healthcare, especially during drug shortages. Congressman Ciscomani visited Acacia Apothecary & Wellness, a family-owned compounding pharmacy in Tucson. Our team will always stand with community pharmacies to ensure patients have robust access to the drugs they need!

In Marana, Congressman Ciscomani toured S&K Security Group’s Systems Integration Lab, where U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) tests technology to stop smuggling, illegal migration, and human trafficking. Their work keeps agents equipped, communities safe, and creates jobs in Southern Arizona.

After securing FY26 House Appropriations’ Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies (THUD) Subcommittee report language to prioritize multi-use airports like Pinal Airpark for FAA tower construction, Congressman Ciscomani visited the site with Pinal County officials. This project would boost safety, grow our economy, and support military readiness.

Congressman Ciscomani joined the Casa Grande Union High School District’s 3rd Annual American Dream Awards, where he bestowed the “Congressman Juan Ciscomani American Dream Inspirational Educator Award” to 22 recipients. Additionally, eight support staff members received the “Congressman Juan Ciscomani American Dream Inspirational Education Supporter Award” for all of their important behind-the-scenes hard work that makes a world of difference for all students.

Our community is grateful for these educators for their dedication to ensuring our children receive the best education and opportunities to succeed.

As Vice Chair of House Committee on Appropriation’s Homeland Security Subcommittee, Congressman Ciscomani visited with CBP Air and Marine Operations at U.S. Army Fort Huachuca to see firsthand how their advanced aircraft and technology, like Unmanned Aircraft Systems, secure our southern border and protect Americans.

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act delivers for hard-working Arizonans across Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District. Congressman Ciscomani hosted a diverse group of stakeholders who joined a roundtable to discuss how their industry benefits from this historic new law – farmers, ranchers, small business owners, seniors, and builders.

Ciscomani invited the media to the roundtable and answered questions from the press in attendance following the discussion.

Congressman Ciscomani visited the 8th graders at Corona Foothills Middle School in Vail – the #1 middle school in Arizona, right at home in Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District. Ciscomani met with administrators, toured the school, and took questions with their 8th graders about government and the legislative process.

Local manufacturing is thriving and creating good jobs in Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District – Congressman Ciscomani toured J.B. Steel in Southern Arizona and met their hardworking team that is building the American Dream.

Congressman Ciscomani joined colleagues, Representatives David Schweikert (AZ-01) and Greg Stanton (AZ-04), to speak at the Arizona Association of Realtors’ meeting – representing more than 53,000 realtors – to address rising housing demands as our state’s economy continues to grow and attract new residents.

Arizona Association of Realtors is the largest trade association in the state.

Thank you to the National Cotton Council of America for inviting Congressman Ciscomani to their meeting for the opportunity to speak on how the One Big Beautiful Bill Act strengthens safety nets, cuts crop insurance costs, and boosts support for cotton farmers – keeping U.S. cotton strong and vital to Arizona’s economy.

To round out all of these great and impactful events, Congressman Ciscomani met with his Veterans’ Council to gain vital insight from our veteran community – nearly 80,000 strong in Ciscomani’s congressional district. Sahuarita Mayor Tom Murphy was named as chair, following Gen. Don Shepperd stepping down after serving for 2 years.

Congressman Ciscomani is grateful for all of the local leaders, businesses, stakeholders, and more in the district who were able to take the time to meet during the August recess work period. He always says, being home in the district, hosting meetings, and being present make him a smarter member of Congress.

Ciscomani is back to Washington, DC for votes this week and returns to southern Arizona on Thursday to host a bipartisan congressional delegation to the southern border.
