WTAS: As House Appropriations Committee Finalize Funding Packages, Local Stakeholders Applaud Ciscomani’s Efforts to Secure to $34 Million for AZ-06
WASHINGTON – Following the House Appropriations Committee’s passage of the final funding packages for FY2025, local stakeholders are praising U.S. Congressman Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06), a member of the Committee, for preliminarily securing $34 million for Arizona’s 6th District. The funds were provisionally awarded in this year’s appropriations process through the Congressman’s Community Project Funding (CPF) requests. Should these funds be signed into law, Ciscomani will have secured $60 million for the district during his freshman term in Congress.
“From my first day in office, I promised to use my position as Arizona’s sole House appropriator to bring as many federal dollars as possible back to our district while maintaining a strong sense of fiscal responsibility,” said Ciscomani. “I am proud to continue making good on this promise by preliminarily securing $34 million this year for projects in all five counties in our the district that will facilitate growth, enhance public safety, secure our water supply, expand access to housing, and strengthen our critical infrastructure.”

“As Mayor of Tombstone, Arizona, I want to thank Congressman Ciscomani for his efforts in securing $989,786 for a rebuild of our over 50-year-old Water Reclamation Facility,” said Tombstone Mayor Dustin Escapule. “This critical upgrade is vital for the health and well-being of our community and the half-million tourists who visit us each year. These improvements will cut the daily maintenance costs and help the operators maintain a safe and efficient plant.”
"Your dedication to rural Arizona and Graham County is something we have not seen for quite some time and has certainly not gone unnoticed,” said Chairman of the Board of Supervisors John Howard. “The funding for this project will benefit the entire community and the improvement to our parks and fairground will be something we as a county and you as our Congressman will be forever proud of, thank you.”
“Congressman Ciscomani’s support of the Town of Pima has been unbelievable. The School Road project is essential to our town as without it, we would not have proper access to the new Pima High School set to open in the fall of 2025,” said Pima Town Manager Vernon Batty and Councilwoman Teresa Bailey in a joint statement. “For Juan Ciscomani’s office to recognize our need and then work so tirelessly to find funding avenues for this project a year after securing funding for our new Fire Station blows us away. He cares deeply about the needs of our district and is working hard to make sure that our tax dollars come back from Washington to benefit lives in southeastern Arizona.”

“Thank you to Congressman Juan Ciscomani for helping us ensure our region has a safe, clean, secure water supply,” said Tucson Mayor Regina Romero. “Tucsonans are known for our conservation ethic: We know that every drop of water is a valuable resource in the desert. Through the Northwest Reclaimed System Project, we will be able to keep more of our recycled water to continue building our water security for Tucsonans to thrive.”
“I am grateful to Congressman Ciscomani for his support of the Northwest Reclaimed System Project,” said City Manager Tim Thomure. “This innovative system will help the City of Tucson maximize our use of recycled water, which is critical for Tucson and our entire region. Residents can rest assured the City of Tucson and Congressional partners are doing all we can to secure the City’s water future.”
“The Northwest Reclaimed System Project is making it possible for industries in our region to take advantage of recycled water,” said Tucson Water Director John Kmiec. “By reducing the amount of effluent water leaving our system, this is making our region more competitive and economically secure. This project is ensuring that recycled water that could otherwise be lost remains in our system.”

“Updated radio systems – which offer clearer audio quality and more reliable connections – ensure critical information is transmitted accurately and quickly,” said Sahuarita Mayor Tom Murphy. “The investment in this technology will improve communication between officers, dispatchers, and other emergency services, and is crucial for coordinating responses to emergencies and ensuring officer safety. The Town of Sahuarita is grateful to Congressman Ciscomani and his team for prioritizing this critical resource for our men and women on the front lines.”

“The City of Eloy is immensely grateful to Congressman Juan Ciscomani for securing vital funds for our community,” said City of Eloy Mayor Micah Powell. “The $1 million allocated to us for the Frontier Street Mill and Fill project is a significant contribution that will help us cover a portion of the $5 million total cost. This funding is not just a financial boost; it represents a strong partnership and commitment to improving our infrastructure. We look forward to continuing our collaborative efforts with Congressman Ciscomani to enhance the quality of life for all Eloy residents.”
“Public safety is always our top priority,” said Oro Valley Mayor Joe Winfield. “A well-maintained infrastructure is crucial for the public and for emergency response efforts. One of the bridges in particular serves as a gateway to other regions, supporting interstate commerce and connectivity. An injection of $7M would enable us to invest now, preventing extensive damage and costly replacements in the future.”
