Ciscomani Supports Passage of FY24 Appropriations Package, Secures $26 Million for AZ-06

March 6, 2024

WASHINGTON – U.S. Congressman Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06), Arizona’s only member of the House Appropriations Committee, today supported the passage of the FY2024 appropriations package, securing $26 million for his district. It also included $45 million for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) VET-TEC program. Ciscomani’s bill to reauthorize this popular VA program passed the House in May of 2023.

“From day one, I promised to use my position on the House Appropriations Committee to bring much-needed resources back to Arizona’s Sixth District while ensuring our taxpayer dollars were being spent responsibly,” said Congressman Ciscomani. “I am proud to say that this package makes good on that promise, securing $26 million for all five counties in our district. This bill not only supports a number of initiatives in Arizona but also reduces wasteful spending, supports our national defense, and rejects divisive policies in the federal government. Delivering these types of results is what I was sent to Congress to do and remains my top priority.”

“Congressman Ciscomani has been a strong voice for his district’s priorities throughout the FY24 Appropriations process and that is reflected in the funding he’s secured for AZ-06,” said House Appropriations Committee Chairwoman Kay Granger (TX-12). “He serves an important role on the Appropriations Committee that allows him to prioritize his constituents and deliver meaningful solutions to Arizona.”

Co-chairs of Ciscomani’s Advisory Council, Dr. Eric Cornidez, Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels, and former Pima County Supervisor Sharon Bronson praised Ciscomani’s work in a joint statement.

“As Arizona’s only member of the House Appropriations Committee, Congressman Juan Ciscomani has played a pivotal role in securing millions of federal dollars for our district and our state,” said Cornidez, Dannels, and Bronson. “This funding will have a meaningful, lasting impact on communities from Casa Grande to Tucson to Sierra Vista for generations to come. We appreciate Congressman Ciscomani’s tireless efforts to secure every last federal dollar for Arizona’s 6th Congressional District and we look forward to seeing these projects come to fruition thanks to these resources.”
