Rep. Ciscomani Applauds Continued Federal Funding for Local Schools
TUCSON – U.S. Congressman Juan Ciscomani commends the release of funding to support English learners, teacher professional development, 21st Century Community Learning Centers, and flexible dollars for K-12 schools which are critical in providing students with expanded learning opportunities.
“As a father of six and a proud product of public schools myself, I’ve seen how important it is to invest in strong educational support systems — from helping students learn English, to giving teachers the training they need to grow, to offering adult learners a second chance at success, and making sure kids have safe, enriching options after school and during the summer,” said Ciscomani. “After hearing directly from school leaders in our communities, I worked closely with the White House to secure funding for these essential programs that make a real difference for students, families, and educators.”
Congressman Ciscomani worked closely with public school leaders and the White House to help secure continued funding for key education programs—Title I-C, II-A, II WIOA, III-A, IV-A, and 21st Century Community Learning Centers—amid a recent Department of Education review.
He also engaged with educators, administrators, and groups like the Boys & Girls Club on the importance of these programs to communities across Arizona’s 6th District.
With the Department’s release of the funds, this includes support for English language acquisition, teacher development, adult education, and after-school and summer learning—critical resources for students and families alike.
