Congressman Ciscomani Meets with Leaders of Casa Grande and Benson to Discuss Economic Development and Much-Needed Highway Improvements

I-10 Expansion Project a Top Priority
Congressman Juan Ciscomani met yesterday with community leaders of Casa Grande and Benson to discuss economic development and much-needed highway improvements to Interstate 10.
The meetings - at opposite ends of Arizona’s 6th Congressional District - were Congressman Ciscomani’s first district events since being sworn in as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives on January 7.
"The message here is simple," said Congressman Ciscomani. "Every town and every city in my district matter. Their issues are my issues and their priorities are my priorities. Today's meetings are just the beginning - going forward we will be working together very closely."
In Casa Grande, the expansion of I-10 and water resources were at the top of the agenda for Mayor Craig McFarland and other city and county leaders.
"It's important that we work together on these issues," Congressman Ciscomani said.
Congressman Ciscomani highlighted his appointment to the House Appropriations Committee as an important win for the district, ensuring that Southeastern Arizona has a voice on the committee responsible for allocating federal funds.
“The I-10 is a critical corridor for trade, commerce, and travel – not just for Arizona’s two largest cities in Phoenix and Tucson, but for the entire region,” said Congressman Ciscomani. “With big wins like Lucid Motors, Casa Grande has quickly become an economic development juggernaut. The expansion of the I-10 will supercharge the region’s growth and bring in new opportunities and high-paying jobs across the district.”
In Benson, Congressman Ciscomani provided the Southeast Arizona Economic Development Group with a brief overview of events in Washington and expressed his willingness to work with local officials.
“We want to work with all of you to grow Benson and deliver results for the entire region,” said Congressman Ciscomani. “I want you to know that our door is always open. We want to hear from you and we want to be helpful. Always know that my district team is here and they are ready to serve the community.”
Congressman Ciscomani also briefed the group on the formation of his Citizens Advisory Council, a diverse group of community leaders from across Arizona’s 6th congressional district and includes Republicans, Democrats and Independents from both the private and public sectors. The 40-member Citizens Advisory Council will serve as a sounding board as he represents Arizona’s 6th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. The Citizens Advisory Council will help Congressman Ciscomani fulfill his promise to remain connected, active, and accessible in the entire district by listening to a diverse group of key stakeholders who are focused on achieving results.
