Ciscomani's Statement on the Decision by Mexico and Canada to Work with the U.S. to Secure the Border and Address the Fentanyl Crisis
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Congressman Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06) issued the following statement on the decision by Mexico and Canada to work with the U.S. to secure our shared borders and address the fentanyl crisis:
"President Trump and Congress are working together to end the fentanyl crisis. Arizona’s trade relationships with Mexico and Canada are a vital part of our state’s economy. While tariffs may not be anyone’s first choice, we have a duty to prioritize public safety and President Trump is using every tool at his disposal to do so. And it’s working. The President’s calls with the leaders of Mexico and Canada today resulted in both countries agreeing to be willing partners in a win-win effort to secure our shared borders and combat this epidemic together."
