Ciscomani Wraps Up Successful August District Work Period Across Arizona’s 6th District

Tucson, AZ - Representative Juan Ciscomani concluded a productive August District Work Period, traveling nearly 2,500 miles across Arizona’s 6th Congressional District for 50 in-person events to meet with constituents, visit local businesses and community organizations, hear directly from local leaders, and highlight millions of dollars in federal investments he has helped secure for the district.

Throughout the district work period, Representative Ciscomani emphasized his commitment to amplifying Southern Arizonans' Arizona 6th Congressional District voices in Washington and transforming local priorities into meaningful legislative action.

"Getting out into the district and hearing directly from the people I represent is one of the most important parts of my job," said Representative Ciscomani. "From healthcare providers and veterans to educators, small business owners, law enforcement, and families, these conversations give me a firsthand understanding of what our communities need. I am taking these perspectives back to Washington to continue fighting for real solutions that make a difference right here in Southern Arizona."

Ciscomani’s outreach included a robust schedule of meetings, roundtables, and site visits, ensuring constituent voices shape his policy priorities.

A major focus of the August District Work Period was highlighting the impact of $42.7 million in preliminary federal funding Representative Ciscomani has advocated for across 20 Community Project Funding (CPF) requests in the Fiscal Year 2027 appropriations bills.

Ciscomani visited communities across the district to see firsthand how these investments will address local priorities, including public safety, transportation, healthcare, workforce development, and infrastructure.

Among the projects highlighted were:

• $6.76 million for Eloy for the Frontier Street Mill & Overlay Project.
• $4.2 million for the Oro Valley Police Department to equip its new headquarters with critical technology and equipment.
• $3 million for Marana to improve the Interstate 10 interchange at Exit 236 and address growing transportation needs.
• $2 million for Benson Hospital to expand critical healthcare services in rural Cochise County.
• $2.7 million for Pima JTED to expand career and technical education programs preparing students for high-demand careers.
• $1.7 million for the Town of Duncan for flood mitigation and pedestrian safety improvements.
• $1.6 million for Pinal Airpark to advance development of a new air traffic control tower.
• $1.3 million for Huachuca City’s Fire Department for a new quint ladder truck.
• $1 million for the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office to strengthen emergency communications capabilities across the county.

"These investments are about more than a line item on a spreadsheet; they are about turning Arizona priorities into a reality. Each project was selected to ensure these federal dollars have the greatest possible impact on our local communities," Ciscomani said.

The congressman spent time with local healthcare leaders throughout the district, hearing directly about the challenges facing patients and providers. In Pima County, he met with leadership at Pima Heart & Vascular. In Cochise County, Ciscomani visited Benson Hospital to see firsthand how the $2 million in preliminary federal funding he secured will help expand critical healthcare access in rural Southern Arizona. He also visitedChiricahua Community Health Center to discuss broader efforts to expand quality care in underserved communities.

Ciscomani also continued his work supporting Southern Arizona’s veterans, meeting with members of his Veterans Advisory Council to provide an update on the 19 veterans bills he has introduced this Congress, many of which were shaped by conversations with veterans across the district. To honor the invaluable contributions of local veterans, Ciscomani hosted his fifth Veteran Servant Leader Award Ceremony, the first of which to be held in Sierra Vista. This event honored 19 local veterans for their continued service and leadership, as well as one civilian for his lasting support of the local veteran community.

Education and workforce development remained another key focus of the August District Work Period. Ciscomani visited Pima JTED alongside SBA Deputy Administrator Bill Briggs to highlight the $2.7 million in preliminary federal funding secured for the expansion of Innovation Tech High School. The investment will expand programs in heavy equipment operation, construction technology, engineering, bioscience, sustainability, and other high-demand fields.

He also recognized outstanding educators at the American Dream Inspirational Educator Awards and met with students from underserved communities who received scholarships from the Lapan Sunshine Foundation. Ciscomani emphasized that career and technical education provides students with a direct pathway toward good-paying careers while helping Arizona employers meet the demand for a skilled workforce. At Buena High School, he visited 13 different career and technical education classes offered to local students.

Ciscomani met with entrepreneurs, business owners, and local job creators throughout the district, including at the 2026 SPARK Business Summit hosted by the Marana Chamber of Commerce and Better Business Bureau of Southern Arizona. He also joined the Marana Chamber of Commerce for its Member Appreciation Luncheon and recognized local business leaders and employers who continue to strengthen the community. He also welcomed a new favorite to the Marana community for the grand opening of Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, celebrating local entrepreneurship and Arizona’s small-business community.

Ciscomani also hosted Speaker Mike Johnson and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent at the PepsiCo manufacturing facility in Casa Grande for a roundtable with local manufacturers followed by a press conference.

The discussion focused on how the Working Families Tax Cuts Act is supporting Arizona manufacturing, encouraging investment, creating jobs, and delivering tax relief to hardworking families. The roundtable brought together PepsiCo leadership and other local manufacturers to discuss the impact of policies including No Tax on Overtime, incentives for new factories and facility expansions, and 100% expensing for capital investments.

Additionally, Ciscomani met with pastors and faith leaders from across Arizona’s 6th Congressional District to discuss challenges facing congregations and ways Congress can better support faith-based organizations serving Arizona families. Conversations centered on strengthening communities, expanding affordable housing, strengthening public safety, and ensuring families feel secure in their places of worship.

He also attended a naturalization ceremony in Tucson, where he shared his own story of becoming a United States citizen 20 years ago and experiencing the American Dream firsthand.

The congressman closed out the productive district work period by joining the Marana High School Tigers and Salpointe Catholic Lancers for their season-opening football game, where he participated in the ceremonial coin toss. Ciscomani’s efforts during the August District Work Period come as he continues to be recognized for his bipartisan approach to governing.

BridgeGrades recently ranked Representative Ciscomani as the most bipartisan member of Arizona’s congressional delegation in either the House or Senate, and among the top 20 most bipartisan members of Congress overall, Republican or Democrat. The recognition highlights Ciscomani’s commitment to working across the aisle and delivering results for Arizona’s 6th Congressional District.
