PINAL COUNTY, AZ – U.S. Congressman Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06), a member of the House Appropriations Committee, yesterday visited two community projects in Casa Grande and Eloy that are set to receive funding secured by the congressman in this year’s funding bill.

Congressman Ciscomani attended the Central Arizona Irrigation and Drainage District (CAIDD) board meeting to discuss their plans to improve irrigation systems in the area. Ciscomani secured $1.8 million for the project in the House’s energy and water funding bill. He also visited the Thornton Road expansion site to see the progress of the project. Congressman Ciscomani successfully included $3.7 million in this year’s funding package for the city of Casa Grande to continue this expansion.

“Between these two projects, we will have secured nearly $5 million for Pinal County, and I am proud of the work we have done to bring these federal dollars back to our district,” said Congressman Ciscomani. “These visits were a great opportunity to see firsthand how this funding will be used in each community and create a meaningful impact on my constituents.”

The funds were provisionally awarded during the House Appropriations Committee’s markup process. In total, Congressman Ciscomani will deliver $27 million back to projects across Arizona’s 6th District from requests in this year’s funding bills. The congressman is both the only freshman and only member of the Arizona congressional delegation on the House Appropriations Committee.
