Ciscomani Provisionally Secures Over $5 Million for Public Safety and First Responders in AZ-06
WASHINGTON – U.S. Congressman Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06), a member of the House Appropriations Committee, preliminarily secured over $5 million for first responders and public safety projects in Arizona’s 6th District. The money was awarded this week in the House Appropriations Committee’s package for Commerce, Justice, and Science in FY2025.
“From day one, I pledged to use my position on the House Appropriations Committee to ensure our federal government prioritizes the needs of Arizona’s Sixth District while maintaining a strong sense of fiscal responsibility,” said Ciscomani. “I cannot think of a better way to fulfill that promise than by securing funds that will make our communities safer and further equip law enforcement to do their jobs.”
Congressman Ciscomani worked to secure the following funds through Community Project Funding requests:
- $810,000 for the Sahuarita Police Department: With this funding, the Sahuarita Police Department (SPD) will be able to obtain 70 police handheld radios, providing each officer with a new, technologically advanced radio.
- $4.38 million for the City of Tucson’s Community Safety Vehicle Fleet Modernization: These dollars will be used to purchase a new police vehicle fleet, including patrol vehicles, motorcycles, trucks, and a mobile command vehicle.
In FY24, Congressman Ciscomani secured $26 million for 13 projects in all five counties in the district. He is the only member of the Arizona congressional delegation on the House Appropriations Committee.
