August 9, 2023

Ciscomani: “There are devastating consequences stemming from the federal government’s inaction at the border.”

SIERRA VISTA, AZ – U.S. Congressman Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06) joined his colleagues on the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees in Sierra Vista on Tuesday for a field hearing focused on the border crisis. The group was briefed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), local law enforcement, and other border officials. They also heard testimonies from several witnesses including Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels and local rancher John Ladd, two members of Ciscomani’s bipartisan Citizens Advisory Council. Ciscomani was accompanied by fellow Congressmen Andy Biggs (AZ-05), Glenn Grothman (WI-06), Chuck Edwards (NC-11) and William Timmons (SC-04).

“This field hearing underscores what our district has been seeing for the last two years – this administration has utterly failed at securing the border and protecting the American people,” said Ciscomani. “There are devastating consequences stemming from the federal government’s inaction at the southern border and it’s hurting Americans across the board. I’m encouraged to see Congress taking action with this week’s field hearing and appreciate my colleagues coming to our district to see the crisis firsthand.”
